Dr. Jessup is a native of Owensboro, Kentucky and remains a Wildcat basketball fan. He attended Eastern Kentucky University where he competed as a varsity gymnast, and then Southern College of Optometry in Memphis where he received his doctorate in Optometry. After completing an internship at Mountain Home VA hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee, Dr. Jessup relocated to Bellevue and began a private practice serving the surrounding area.
Dr. Jessup is Board Certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry, and in addition to maintaining his private practice serves as a staff physician for Health Care for Life LLC, caring for patients in numerous nursing homes in the Middle Tennessee area. Dr. Jessup also served as the key doctor providing eye care for the Head Start and Early Head Start programs in certain areas providing care to over one thousand children during the fall of 2014. As his practice grew it has been relocated from Belle Forest Circle its present home in Creekside Square between Domino’s and Jiffy Lube on Old Harding Pike in Bellevue. Dr. Jessup started a second practice on Thompson Lane near Nolensville Road serving the Woodbine area with a completely bilingual (Spanish/English) staff. Thompson Lane Eye Care is still providing excellent care under the leadership and direction of it’s new owner, Dr. Allison Jones.
Dr. Jessup is happily married to his lovely wife, Claudia, and is the proud father of three sons, Clay, Julian, and Jacob. He is also a motorcyclist, enjoys home projects, art, clay target sports, and is a private pilot.

Lauren is our receptionist and will likely be the first voice you hear when calling. Feel free to ask for her help with scheduling or questions about insurance benefits and coverages.
Morgan is the assistant at Jessup Eye care. She works daily as Dr. Jessup’s “right arm” preparing patients for their time with the doctor. She is responsible for training new contact lens wearers, ordering contact lenses, and helping with any questions you may have about your care in the office.
Mischelle and Ashton are our “resident experts” in the optical area and stand ready to help with all your needs for prescription eyeglasses, sports glasses, prescription sunglasses.
Clay manages our ophthalmic laboratory and has been fabricating eyeglasses for over six years. Our lab may even be have your glasses completed the same day! Feel free to stop in anytime and have your glasses cleaned or adjusted free of charge.
